About

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis perched on the edge of a small lake. Enjoy kayaks, row boat, peddle boat, swimming and fishing. Sit back and relax on the large deck overlooking the water and rustle up a BBQ dinner. Chill by firelight around our natural fire pit. Please see important notes about what to bring in the other sections of the listing.

Good to know

It’s all about the heavily wooded lakeside setting and the great outdoor space. Incredibly peaceful and restful, almost zen-like. The cottage and rooms are compact but comfortable. Please remember this is a rural woodsy lakeside retreat not a W Hotel!! The main house sleeps up to 6 and has one bathroom. The separate bunk house is currently out of commission. Please note there is no laundry facility so please bring sheets and towels. The lake is small but very pretty. Water is relatively shallow and warm. Lake floor is a mixture of sand and silt. We swim all the time in the sandy area in front of the small beach area. For those who like to fish I’m told it’s amazing because of the warm shallow water. You’ll see neighbors out fishing every day. No power boats are allowed on the lake but we have various small boats and kayaks for you to enjoy.

Other Details to Note

We do not have any laundry facilities so please bring your own towels and sheets (one queen sofa bed, one full size bed, 2 single beds). There are plenty of pillows and blankets. You will find extra blankets inside the ottoman in the living room. Please make sure to cover the outdoor furniture with the covers provided both overnight and when leaving the house for any extended period. Weather conditions can change suddenly and the last thing you want is a bunch of soggy wet cushions! Place the swing chair and rocking chair cushions under the sofa covers. Leave the dining table cushions in place and simply cover the table and chairs with the cover provided. Make sure to clip the sofa covers onto the legs and put the black sand bags on top of each cover otherwise the wind across the lake can blow the covers off! You’re welcome to use the various kayaks and boats in the beach area at your own risk.

House Rules

BBQ, fire pit, boats etc are used at renter’s risk. Trampoline is not for guest use. Please exercise caution if using fire pit and extinguish fully with garden hose before leaving unattended.

Very quiet and private. Only 10 houses around the lake. On one side of you there is just protected wetlands. On the other side the next house is maybe 100 feet away

Find us

Quick 10 min drive into the cute town of Wolfeboro where you will find 2 grocery stores, a liquor store, a gas station, post office, a launderette, a bunch of restaurants and of course access to lake Winnipausakee. There are also four lakeside public beaches close by. We like “Albee beach” on lake Wentworth the best and its 5 mins away.
